Having trouble logging into the Outlook app after a password reset

Overview

This is a self service article showing some troubleshooting methods for trouble logging into the Outlook mobile/web app after a password reset.

Instructions

Check to make sure that the Outlook app is up to date and that there are no new updates that may have been pushed out. 

  1. Go into the app/play store.
  2. Click on the top right on your account logo.
  3. Click manage apps and devices.
  4. Under this you will see updates available. 
  5. You can then click update all.

Sign out of your outlook account and try to log back in.

  1. Click on the top left icon of your app.
  2. Navigate to the setting wheel at the bottom of the menu page.
  3. Click on your account and scroll to the bottom.
  4. Press remove account.
  5. Sign back in as normal.

Power cycle the device you are using to try and access the app off and back on again.

  1. Simply turn the device on and off again or by clicking restart in the power options.

Uninstalling Outlook and reinstalling it from scratch.

  1. Press and hold down the app.
  2. Click uninstall.
  3. Go into the app/play store then reinstall the app and sign back in.
